The Govt of Maharashtra has announced EV policy (a complementary policy to (FAME II) FasterAdoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicle II).
The state government hopes to achieve an overall target of 10% vehicle registrations to be battery electric vehicles by 2025. The segregation is given below

- All the EVs sold in the state shall be exempted from road tax till the duration of the policy.
- EVs sold in the state shall be exempted from fees for purpose of issue or renewal ofregistration certificate.
Incentives under this policy
1 Incentives for electric vehicles (kwh of the vehicle battery capacity)
2 Scrappage Incentives
The vehicles eligible for incentives under this policy will be eligible for the scrappage incentives.
3) Incentives on extended battery warranty and buyback agreement
OEMs who offer buyback schemes for vehicles which are up to 5 years old at a value reduced by not more than 7.5% per year of the age will be eligible for additional incentives as follows-
4) Charging Infrastructure Incentives
Public and semi-public charging stations (PCS and SPCS) will be eligible for incentives. The charging station shall be eligible for the incentives only after the commencement of the operation of the station
Note 2: Major players e-bus operating in the country includes JBM Auto Limited, *Goldstone Infratech Ltd, Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Limited, Tata Motors Limited, Foton PMI etc.
*Goldstone has the highest share in electric bus market (almost owns the half of the market) offers two models in the Indian market, K7 and K9.

Conclusion
Electric Vehicles can increase the fuel economy of vehicles but with an increase in the cost of buying compared to traditional vehicles. This paper provides the recent initiatives and various subsidies offered by the GOM that will help to push the e-mobility drive in India.
Further, the Govt is trying to reduce dependency on crude oil, this is one of the initiatives taken by the Govt to make EVs at a reasonable price to the users.
